Homeless & Hunger Stand Down 2010

H__H_Logo_smallThe Fayetteville-Cumberland Ministerial Council, the Department of Veteran Affairs along with members of the faith community will partner to host the first annual Homeless & Hunger Stand Down 2010 on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the VFW Post 6018 located at 116 Chance Street from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm with an opening ceremony at 9:00 am.  The Stand Down will provide information and services, health screenings, as well as lunch and other necessities to support Cumberland County residents and veterans in need.

This event was formerly known as the F.E.E.D. Fayetteville Event hosted by the Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations Commission.  Last year over 1,300 residents received services through this endeavor of local health and human service organizations and the faith community.  The goal of this years’ Stand Down is to provide service and information to over 1,500 residents. The committee is chaired by Bishop Larry O. Wright, Sr., Pastor, Heal the Land Ministry and Chair of the Fayetteville-Cumberland Ministerial Council.  Transportation will be provided by F.A.S.T.
