No matter how many "goodie-goodie" things you do, they will not make you more or less righteous. No matter how long your checklist of works is, it alone, will not get you into Heaven. Joining the choir won't make you righteous and neither will feeding the hungry or praying three times a day. God expects you to do what is right and appropriate. He does not expect you to be perfect. Just by being His child you are already acceptable in His eyes.

Where many go wrong in their walk is trying to constantly TELL others about their lives as a Christian. If you are living your life bearing the fruits of the spirit it will be obvious to your fellow man that you are walking in the footsteps of Jesus. No need for a bumper sticker or a t-shirt announcing your status as a believer. Those things are superficial and can be purchased by anyone. Authenticity comes from others seeing you helping your brother or sister in Christ.

Praise Almighty God!  He has His own deadline.  The big piece is what was done while I was in the circumstance, not the circumstance itself.  What was I doing?  How was I responding?  God was WAITING ON ME to get out of the way and put the pressure on HIM.  It’s amazing what God will use, an ordinary electric bill.  I had taken my focus off my circumstance and focused on what I needed to learn from it.  What was God teaching me?  The knowledge I would get from that would...

Convenient meant, "Jasmine, close my door."  "Can you get me some water?"  "Will you please throw this away?"  Then it became, "Let's play X-box, Playstation, or Gamecube."   But the inconvenience meant, "Mom, please tell Jasmine to get out of my room."  You see, he had to call me because Jasmine was a little bit of a provoker.  She would wait until he was good and busy.  There was one time when Chris was washing dishes.  Jasmine came up....

And not only was it a new season, but everything seemed so very new, in a very strange way.  But this newness was not predicated on the things that could be seen, but on the unseen.  The newness put me in a place that I had never discovered.  There was an area in my life that I had not claimed, uncharted territory, an unknown place, unexplored, and totally unfamiliar to me. It all started the day when my electric bill was due....

Do you know what an oxymoron is? Actually, an oxymoron is a contradiction or a paradox, usually expressed in two words that although said together seem to mean the opposite.  Like "act naturally," "found missing" or "fresh frozen."   My favorite oxymoron is JUMBO SHRIMP. With that in mind, let me suggest to you a phrase that according to the Bible is a spiritual oxymoron: Impatient Christian. Sadly it is a phrase that all too often describes you and me.

The subject of the Holy Spirit is one of the most misunderstood and misinterpreted subjects among Christians and non-Christians. Many people are afraid to hear sermons about the Holy Spirit because of incorrect teachings they may have received in the past. The topic of speaking in tongues and the gifts of the Spirit are often shunned as a result. However, the Holy Spirit is real. He desires to work through you so that you can experience...

God's Word says, to a mature man, "to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."  The majority of your churches are teaching that you're not even worthy, that you're not righteous. You can't go to the throne of God. You can't be like Christ. But the Word says, "to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine."

If Jesus had not given His life, then we would be doomed for eternal destruction. He looked past whether or not we deserved it - because we didn't-- and gave His life in spite of us. Therefore, it is no wonder that we ought to be willing to show some sign before other men that we love the Lord. With all that God has given us, we ought to. let the world know that there is a Name that we are submitted to...

Walking by faith is one of the shortest and yet most powerful sentences a believer can say. As a single woman over the age of 40 and small business owner, this is my life's testimony. The world wants you to believe that there is something wrong with a life like mine because I'm still single and childless. They want you to believe that if you aren't keeping up with the Joneses and that you aren't living a fulfilled life. Pretty hilarious, huh?
