So what happens when you lose your job, the house is in foreclosure, your spouse leaves, your children raises up against you and the doctor presents a bad report?  Now if this is not ALL of hell breaking loose, then the feeling is pretty close! Probably for some of us, if just one of these events would take place in our lives, things will fall apart.  Frankly, it’s very easy to just give up and throw in the towel during these raging storms. ROMANS 5:1-2 NKJ 1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. All we receive from God is by His grace.

We do not deserve it, and we are not able to earn it. It is a gift offered by grace. But we must access it by faith.

GALATIANS 3:14 NKJ 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

We receive through faith. Whether we are receiving the Holy Spirit or receiving healing.

As much as we might want to run from our problems, they aren't going away simply by pretending they don't exist.  In fact...

Perhaps our words to one another are often too rough, harsh, hateful, and even cruel because we do not allow enough silence in our life. Our lives are often full of noise: the noise of the television, the radio, our employers, our children, our spouse, our biological clock, our parents, our five year plans, our ten year plans, our pastors, our insecurities, our fears, ourselves!

At the very beginning of the speech King responds to the imagination of standing next to God and taking a look at human history since the beginning of time. God turns to King and asks him if he could live in any period of history, what period would that be. King takes his mind to several including Mount Olympus and the great Greek Philosophers. But there was a greater period of history he would like to live in.
