While He was on the Earth, Jesus showed the disciples how to pray, teaching them to pray as He prayed, because they had asked Him to do so. His life, including His prayer life, was an example to them and to us. Not only did He show them how to pray but also He taught them what to pray for. The prayers of Jesus, along with those of His disciples, helped the Kingdom of God to actually come about...

If done properly and biblically, prayer becomes your launching pad to living a life that is beyond even your wildest desires. That’s what happened to Hannah praying for a son. Her prayer was answered because of her strategy. A strong prayer life will literally launch you into another dimension! In theory, we know this. In practice, most of us struggle to have a consistent, vibrant, and refreshing prayer life. I too have struggled with my prayer life...

"And I pray that you… may have power… to grasp how wide and long and high and deep
is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge…."
(EPHESIANS 3: 17B-19A) Scripture Focus: Ephesians 3:14-19

Some prayers won't be answered until we are with Christ after the consummation of all
things. I believe this prayer of Paul is one of those. Paul prays that we would have the
power to know the full depths of God's love that surpasses knowledge.

God is infinite; therefore, His love is infinite in its depths. We humans are finite and,
in this life, broken - even though we may be redeemed.

A fresh insight into God from the Bible always brings a joyful thrill, a delight, to the
heart of a believer. You might call it a Holy Spirit inspired "Eureka!"
experience. We will be able to enjoy that fantastic thrill throughout eternity because we
will continually know our Savior better. We'll find perfect delight and utter joy in the
eternal and infinite love of God.

Paul ends this prayer, "to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout
all generations, forever and ever! Amen." This forever prayer is open to all who
believe the gospel. There are no secrets reserved only for the "initiated."

"So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him' ... 'Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick, get up!" he said, and the chains fell off Peter's wrists'. ...  'When this had dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gathered and were praying.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, [If you do what this verse says, then the next verse will come into play.] And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  [And the way you keep from being anxious for nothing is by doing what verse 8 says.],....

We are in the "me right now" generation. Nothing worth having in life is gotten instantly. Everything is seed, time, time, and time... You must put time with that seed. Time means uninterrupted trust in the seed. I know this seed will work. I know what God said. Then you understand that time is your friend. God can compress His blessing in you and make a year seem like 100 years.

We need to give credit where credit is due. You may be very blessed. And if you are, know this: it is not you that caused it. You are blessed because God blessed you. That is the opinion you ought to have of yourself. Realize that your blessings did not start and end with you. They started and ended with God. Somebody has been praying for you, and it was their prayers that brought you through.

Here are five elements that the Bible says are essential to having God both hear and answer our prayers. If we do these things we can be sure that our prayers will be answered. That is not to say that we can use these principles as spiritual "magic charms" to make God accomplish our will on earth. The whole point is to accomplish His will on earth as it is in heaven.

Prayer is probably one of the most misunderstood and potentially frustrating topics because many people don't know how to get results when they pray. The simplicity of prayer has been lost in many people's lives and turned into a religious tradition that has a form but no real power. Prayer is not meant to be a burden or to be used as a badge of holiness. Instead, it is a gift from God that, when used properly, should yield great victory in your life.

You or I might strain to reach underneath an engine or struggle with pliers to put together some little piece of furniture.  But for a master mechanic or trained craftsman, it seems that no problem is too great.  The mechanic whips out a long instrument that has a ratchet on the end, slithers it up through the crowded engine compartment, and has a blot out in seconds. Have you ever watched a talented mechanic or craftsman work?  He always has the right tool.
